• Is it possible to re-apply after receiving rejection for a previous application? Yes, but in such case the new application should differ significantly from the original rejected application, eg. after new academic publications have been accepted by internationally reviewed journals.
  • Is it possible to apply without having finished the PhD, yet? Yes, but always according to the eligibility criteria, requiring to be in possession of a PhD degree at the time of the application cut-off-point (remember that applications are collated in batches every 3 months). Part of the material to be submitted for application is a copy of the PhD degree (if available at the time of application, or a certificate stating the planned award date of the PhD degree).
  • The application needs to be supported by two reference letters. Is it possible for these to be signed, scanned and submitted electronically, or do they need to be posted? The candidate's referees may also send the reference letters on behalf of the ICFOnest application electronically (preferably as scanned version of the originally signed letter) to icfojobs@icfo.eu, indicating the name of the candidate as well as 'ICFOnest+' in the mailing label.
  • Can the reference letters be submitted after the deadline of application established for the batch in which a candidate applies? The reference letters should be received within the established application deadline, as they are a fundamental part of the material to be evaluated. The review process will start shortly after the application deadline, so that in case the letters would not have reached the committee by then, the candidate's overall score may be penalized.
